Sweet Gothic Mixed Media Wreath, Fall or Halloween Decor
What is it?
It's a wreath. It is a mixed media wreath with elegant dark, brooding colors yet simultaneously, cheerfully light and playful. It is perfect for fall, or if you're anything like me, I will keep this on my front door every month of the year until Christmas!
Specifically...
I used a 14" wired wreath frame and added just a touch of sweet pastels, mixed in with gothic tones of dark purple roses, smoky gray roses, and dark purple and black flowers. Items used: soft purple and pink sheer wired ribbon, glitter, wired B&W ribbon; black glittered ribbon, resin moulds; black and cream harlequin wired ribbon; black and white striped wired ribbon; metallic thread; thick gauge wire with painted wooden beads; silver threaded mesh tulle; black and white Moon ribbon. It is considered "mixed-media" because I use more than ribbon and mesh to make my wreaths. I add the awesome resin mould, homemade chipboards pieces, and various things like wooden beads, glass beads, metal gears, and other tiny knick knacks.
Wreath is a one of a kind. Made to hang on front door, or maybe a wall, or window, mantle, wherever you'd like to add some color, with basic wreath hook by coordinating ribbon and tack.
Is it sturdy and will it last?
All items were adhered using a matte medium gel, gesso, and hot glue to assure that nothing comes apart. I live in a windy area, so I add wire to secure my wreath pieces on every wreath I construct and make sure that it will absolutely stand against high winds. I take each of my finished pieces and shake the daylights out of them, upside down and everything, to assure that nothing will fall off. So, yes, it is quite durable and built to last. I can assure you that there is nothing delicate or fragile about THIS piece!
Artist Disclaimer:
One of a kind art. There is only one available.
My prices may seem inconsistent, but every item is priced according to the amount of time I spend creating them as well as the supplies used. I handcraft nearly every piece that goes into my art. The resin pieces are the simplest things I create because the amazing moulds do most of the work for me. But other items found on each of my pieces is completely designed and meticulously put together by me. While there are a lot of fantastically beautiful options out there, I don't buy many pre-made embellishments because I want my art to be unique and entirely MY design. So if the prices seem higher on some pieces and lower on others, it has everything to do with the time spent creating each individual embellishment used on those pieces. I solemnly pour my heart and soul into everything I make. And I truly hope that shows in my attention to every single detail and quality of my products.
