The White Butterfly Greeting Card, Pink with Heart Spray and Pearl Mixed Media
What is it? An artistic greeting card
Handmade mixed media greeting card that also serves as an artsy display. This is a single 5x7" card and will come with its own envelope.
Specifics:
This card is quite substantial and solidly built. It was made from a heavy 120 lb. smooth, white card stock base. First, I added a 5x7" white panel to the card front, embossed with a beautiful leaf folder from Spellbinders. I took a heavy 130 lb. watercolor paper and played with various sprays and watercolor inks in pink, red, and purple tones, then stamped on that page with various script stamps with both white and black permanent inks. There is a layer of thick foam tape beneath the black heavy card stock mat that is behind the watercolor sheet. Lots of layers. I wrapped a white baker's twine with gold thread around the center watercolor panel, added a couple of leafy heart sprays, a gorgeous white Metallique Pearl Wax resin butterfly (created by me from a Finnabair mould and wax), and topped that with a watercolor flower (also me). Finishing touches include bright white flat-back pearls and a pearl sprig with cream tulle. There is no internal sentiment, but there is space for writing your own message to the recipient.
Due to the nature of the layers, the thickness of the flower, butterfly, and the pearls, if you choose to mail this out to someone, I highly recommend putting it in a bubble mailer, otherwise the butterfly and pearls could get broken in the post office rollers, and the card may get smashed.
All items were adhered using a matte medium gel and Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue to assure that nothing comes apart.
Artist Disclaimer:
One of a kind art. There is only one available.
My prices may seem inconsistent, but every item is priced according to the amount of time I spend creating them as well as the supplies used. I handcraft nearly every piece that goes into my art. The resin pieces are the simplest things I create because the amazing moulds do most of the work for me. But other items found on each of my pieces is completely designed and meticulously put together by me. While there are a lot of fantastically beautiful options out there, I don't buy many pre-made embellishments because I want my art to be unique and entirely MY design. So if the prices seem higher on some pieces and lower on others, it has everything to do with the time spent creating each individual embellishment used on those pieces. I solemnly pour my heart and soul into everything I make. And I truly hope that shows in my attention to every single detail and quality of my products.
