Steampunk Love & Purple Roses Mixed Media Gallery Canvas Wall Art

What is it? Mixed-media art.

A handmade mixed media piece titled Steampunk Love & Purple Roses. Bright lime and aqua background heavily contrasted by a dark center surrounded with purple roses and other little flowers.

Specifics:

I used an 11"x14" gallery canvas. I played with the lime and aqua shades of watercolor on the canvas then sprayed it with a glossy top coat spray to seal it in so I could add more layers without destroying the integrity of the base layer. The supplies used thereafter are: acrylic gel medium, white gesso,  silk and plastic flowers, texture paste, script stencil, smaller metal gears; handmade larger gears and honeycomb chipboard pieces, metal flower frame, wooden "Love" word with dry wall tape distressing, chipboard alphabet letters, old broken metal jewelry pieces, buttons, and other various found treasures, glass beads, chipboard numbers, mega art stones, metallic watercolor paint in dark aqua, lime green, and teal, and regular teal and green acrylic paint, and Peacock Art Alchemy Metallique wax.

All items were adhered using a matte medium gel, gesso, and Bearly Art Precisoin Craft Glue, and hot glue to assure that nothing comes apart. Made to hang on wall from back, it's a regular gallery canvas with a wood frame underneath.

My prices may seem inconsistent, but every item is priced according to the amount of time I spend creating them as well as the supplies used. I handcraft nearly every piece that goes into my art. The resin pieces are the simplest things I create because the amazing moulds do most of the work for me. But other items found on each of my pieces is completely designed and meticulously put together by me. While there are a lot of fantastically beautiful options out there, I don't buy many pre-made embellishments because I want my art to be unique and entirely MY design. So if the prices seem higher on some pieces and lower on others, it has everything to do with the time spent creating each individual embellishment used on those pieces. I solemnly pour my heart and soul into everything I make. And I truly hope that shows in my attention to every single detail and quality of my products.
