The Patina Paradise 16x24" Canvas Frame Steampunk Wall Art
What is it?
Handmade mixed media piece built for hanging on the wall, this one is entitled The Patina Paradise. Dimensions are 16x24" and I used the backside of a regular gallery canvas. There is a baker's twine strip attached to the back for hanging on the wall.
Specifically...
I used a 16x24" gallery canvas and coated both sides with various decorative tissue papers which were layered in gesso and acrylic paint. Central focus contains various resin mould pieces, gauze fabric, and a torn water color sheet with various stamps and dry wall tape ripped, torn, and adhered to it, all elevated with thick foam tape on top of many gears and scrolls. Larger dragonfly sits on top of a beautiful resin scroll mould attached to a clear circular ornament with brass metallique wax trim. The 2 moths are on top of another circular ornament layered with gears, beads, and foam flowers. Smaller resin butterflies surround the central focal element with flowers in resin and foam and pearls. Tucked in various places you will find a few metallic paper leafy branches. Piece was finished with various pearls, splatter, and glitter touches.
Is it sturdy and will it last?
All items were adhered using a matte medium gel, gesso, and hot glue to assure that nothing comes apart. I take each of my finished pieces and shake the daylights out of them, upside down and everything, to assure that nothing will fall off. So, yes, it is quite durable and built to last.
Artist Disclaimer:
One of a kind art. There is only one available.
My prices may seem inconsistent, but every item is priced according to the amount of time I spend creating them as well as the supplies used. I handcraft nearly every piece that goes into my art. The resin pieces are the simplest things I create because the amazing moulds do most of the work for me. But other items found on each of my pieces is completely designed and meticulously put together by me. While there are a lot of fantastically beautiful options out there, I don't buy many pre-made embellishments because I want my art to be unique and entirely MY design. So if the prices seem higher on some pieces and lower on others, it has everything to do with the time spent creating each individual embellishment used on those pieces. I solemnly pour my heart and soul into everything I make. And I truly hope that shows in my attention to every single detail and quality of my products.
