The Tenebrous Garden 12"x16" Hard Canvas Panel Wall Art
What is it?
Handmade mixed media piece built for hanging on the wall, this one is entitled The Tenebrous Garden. Made from a hard 12x16" canvas panel that hangs from Black & White twine pierced through the top.
Specifically...
Lots of white space on this one, heavy contrast with the black and red, small pops of aqua, and an overall quite striking color palette. Everything was entirely made from scratch by me, including every single flower, leaf, butterfly, frame, and resin piece. Supplies used are: Amazing Cast resin, Mix&Mold ceramic resin, and various Prima and Stamperia moulds, plus a few no-name moulds off Amazon, flower foam for handmade flowers with beaded stamen, red and black alcohol ink, Salvaged Patina Distress Paint, black gesso, white gesso, Metallique Waxes in Soot, White Pearl, Fire Ruby, and Brushed Iron; black glitter, matte gel, hot glue, old broken jewelry, B&W twine, silver metallic thread, pearls, flat back pearls, black Sparkle Spots, glossy black card stock and leaf die cuts. The mesh in the background is recycled material from my kids' old trampoline netting. I gotta say, this is one of my personal favorites.
Is it sturdy and will it last?
All items were adhered using a matte medium gel, gesso, and hot glue to assure that nothing comes apart. I take each of my finished pieces and shake the daylights out of them, upside down and everything, to assure that nothing will fall off. So, yes, it is quite durable and built to last.
Artist Disclaimer:
One of a kind art. There is only one available.
My prices may seem inconsistent, but every item is priced according to the amount of time I spend creating them as well as the supplies used. I handcraft nearly every piece that goes into my art. The resin pieces are the simplest things I create because the amazing moulds do most of the work for me. But other items found on each of my pieces is completely designed and meticulously put together by me. While there are a lot of fantastically beautiful options out there, I don't buy many pre-made embellishments because I want my art to be unique and entirely MY design. So if the prices seem higher on some pieces and lower on others, it has everything to do with the time spent creating each individual embellishment used on those pieces. I solemnly pour my heart and soul into everything I make. And I truly hope that shows in my attention to every single detail and quality of my products.
