The White Dress Handmade Mixed Media Steampunk Wall Art
What is it?
A handmade mixed media piece titled The White Dress. 12x16" hard canvas panel layered with washi tape, texture paste and stencil work, resin pieces, tulle, gauze, and flowers.
12x16" hard canvas panel, ready to hang with attached ribbon. Elegant yet slightly steampunk, I wanted to create something I haven't seen in my own online searches: a beautiful dress that I would love to own myself! I imagine wearing this on a very nice evening out with the love of my life where we landed on a beach, walking barefoot through the sand with my hand in his and the midnight moon gleaming over us and the waves.
Materials used: tulle, gauze, soft purple sparkle tulle, handmade foam flowers, resin mould pieces, matte medium, hot glue, glitter, pearls, washi tapes, texture paste and stencil work, art stones, ribbon, lace, resin dragonflies and butterflies, and baker's twine.
Is it sturdy and will it last?
All items were adhered using a matte medium gel, Bearly Art glue, hot glue, and/or clear and white gesso to assure that nothing comes apart. After completing each piece, I tip them upside down and shake the daylights out of them to see if anything falls off, so I can assure quality and sturdiness. Some items are adhered using Glossy Accents, an incredibly strong, clear adhesive material made by Ranger.
Artist Disclaimer:
One of a kind art. There is only one available.
My prices may seem inconsistent, but every item is priced according to the amount of time I spend creating them as well as the supplies used. I handcraft nearly every piece that goes into my art. The resin pieces are the simplest things I create because the amazing moulds do most of the work for me. But other items found on each of my pieces is completely designed and meticulously put together by me. While there are a lot of fantastically beautiful options out there, I don't buy many pre-made embellishments because I want my art to be unique and entirely MY design. So if the prices seem higher on some pieces and lower on others, it has everything to do with the time spent creating each individual embellishment used on those pieces. I solemnly pour my heart and soul into everything I make. And I truly hope that shows in my attention to every single detail and quality of my products.
